Olivier Neukom, who was born in 1986 in Switzerland, moved to Australia when he was nine years old. He spent a lot of time outdoors as a child, which he believes contributed to the early development of his creativity.
In the course of his training for a career in landscape building, Olivier discovered his passion for stone masonry and over time produced a number of stunning stoneworks.
Arriving in Canada as a stone sculptor, Olivier was given the chance to work only for an art gallery.
As a self-taught artist who has gained knowledge via trial and error, Olivier’s work exudes a sense of independence. He finds inspiration in nature, using stone sculpting to convey both his feelings and perceptions and the bare beauty of nature. Whistler has sculptures by Olivier on display.
